    Of course if it …
    Of course if it works, a BRILLIANT IDEA – even if only 75% accurate because for the first time it gives Google search engine and YouTube the possibility to READ contents of a video. Until now limited only to keywords, text of video title etc and of course comments.

    Yes interesting – …
    Yes interesting – they are piloting it I think on a few videos and this is one of them.

    @pjvdixon For …
    @pjvdixon For subtitles (at least when I view this video) it seems you’ve managed to activate a new YouTube feature on the “cc” closed caption button which (if you flip it on) will attempt a speech recognition number on your voice. :D

    It’s actually amazing how good it is all things considered.. But it still has a way to go to move past “mad libbing” what you said with snakes and chickens. Maybe it was programmed with American English and your proper enunciation throws it for a loop? (grin)

    @DavidAKZ Yes, …
    @DavidAKZ Yes, speculative attack on stock of a company can be very destabilising. Few CEOs in my experience think their current share price is based on rationality and logic. Other factors including mood and emotion.

    @TimTrimT Sorry …
    @TimTrimT Sorry what am I missing? Where do you go to get subtitles like that???

  6. DavidAKZ says:

    How long can you …
    How long can you have a successful business when (for example) Goldman are shorting your stock ?

    I love the new CC …
    I love the new CC Subtitle option from YouTube – Transcribe audio! Woo Wee funny! :) I never knew you spoke about chickens and Iranians and serpents so much! Way better than mad libs.

  8. pjvdixon says:

    Yes – …
    Yes – SUSTAINAGILITY will be published in May – a major work on green tech revolution and how it will help save the world profitably. The $40 trillion green tech boom will offer some of the greatest business opportunities for 30 years.

    Yes – marketers …
    Yes – marketers need to be innovative as well – being different is vital. Thanks.

    Great to have you …
    Great to have you back Patrick. How come you have been so quiet recently? A new book in the pipeline?

    One area I feel …
    One area I feel suffers from a “copycat culture” is advertising. With car manufactures for example I find a lot of the advertising irreverent to both me and the product. They try to sell a lifestyle that just don’t seem to fit!

    A few are exceptions, Honda being one example, and the recent Renault EV advert was quite interesting too.

    I know this wasn’t quite relevant to the video, but I think companies spend to much time looking at each other and not at where they can innovate.
